Seismic explorations are used for determining the passed soil layers by reducing the number of drilling, understanding the properties and margins based on the principle of drilling activities, constitute to help an element of geophysical methods. 

Objective of local geophysical studies are determined precisely, all records that are received and measurements that are made, should be interpreted in details. Works’ purpose, methods, vehicles names that are used, properties, measurement results that are taken, all tables and graphics can be given together with interpretations. Geophysical studies are interpreted with boring logs, place of measurement’s coordinates are given in tabular.

Seismic Refraction

Purpose of bellow mentioned can be used for the shallow depth researches.

a- Determining the underground structure (layer numbers, thickness, vertical Vp and horizontal Vs wave velocities),

b- Determining the floor’s elastic parameters (density, poisson ratio, modulus of elasticity, shear modulus, the soil dominant pulse period),

c- Determining the soil class according to obtained parameters,

d- Researching imbedded fault marks,

e- Finding the gaps and discontinuity in the soil if it has etc.

Seismic reflection is used for designation in the seismic refraction part for the deep soil researches.
